How It Works

Getting started with the shadowing program is straightforward. Follow these four steps to go from new member to shadowing on the field.

All shadowing is supervised by our faculty advisor and the school's athletic training staff. Safety and professionalism are our top priorities at every event.

Join the Club
Attend regular club meetings and complete the basic onboarding modules to get started as an official member.

Complete Training
Learn taping techniques, injury recognition, emergency protocols, and foundational sports medicine skills before going on-site.

Sign Up for Shifts
Browse and choose available shadowing slots during athletic events that fit your schedule across the school year.

What You'll Learn

Shadowing goes beyond observation. You will develop practical, transferable skills that are valuable in any healthcare career.

Athletic Taping
Learn prophylactic and supportive taping techniques used to prevent and manage common athletic injuries including ankle, wrist, and knee stabilization.
Injury Assessment
Observe and assist with on-field injury evaluations, understanding when to refer athletes for further medical care and how to document findings.
Emergency Response
Understand emergency action plans, concussion protocols, and how certified athletic trainers respond quickly and calmly under pressure.
